Welcome to BP-AI Scanner ("BP-AI", "the App", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your download, installation, access, and use of the BP-AI mobile application for iOS and the associated website. By downloading, accessing, or using BP-AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the application or website.
CRITICAL MEDICAL DISCLAIMER: BP-AI is a personal wellness recordkeeping logbook and transcription utility. BP-AI DOES NOT MEASURE BLOOD PRESSURE AND IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE. It does not provide medical advice, clinical diagnosis, prognosis, or medical treatment. The app transcribes numbers from your separate, physical blood pressure monitor. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking medical attention because of information viewed in or transcribed by this application. In a medical emergency, immediately call your local emergency services (e.g., 911 in the United States).
1. Nature of the Service
BP-AI is designed to assist individuals in logging and organizing blood pressure and pulse readings obtained from their separate, approved external blood pressure monitoring devices. Key functions include:
- Display Screen OCR: Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology that transcribes numeric digits shown on the physical screen of your external blood pressure monitor into a digital log.
- Manual Logbook: Allowing users to record date, time, arm position, notes, and lifestyle tags.
- Educational Reference: Displaying standard public reference categories published by the American Heart Association (AHA) for educational comparison purposes only.
- Data Export: Generating local PDF and CSV summary reports for personal recordkeeping or sharing with your healthcare provider.
- Optional HealthKit Sync: Pushing confirmed systolic and diastolic readings to your Apple Health database upon explicit user authorization.
2. No Medical or Professional Advice
The content provided through the App, including statistical averages, trend charts, and AHA classification categories, is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended to substitute for the professional judgment of a physician, nurse, or other qualified healthcare provider. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all transcribed readings before saving or sharing them.
3. In-App Purchases, Subscriptions & Billing
The App is free to download and provides core recordkeeping capabilities. Optional premium features ("BP-AI Pro") may be made available as in-app purchases or subscriptions.
- App Store Billing: All financial transactions, subscriptions, and lifetime purchases are processed directly by Apple Inc. via your Apple ID account through the Apple App Store, subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
- Cancellations & Refunds: You can manage or cancel auto-renewing subscriptions at any time through your iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple according to App Store customer support policies.
4. User Privacy & On-Device Data Ownership
Your privacy is central to our design. Blood pressure records, notes, and history remain stored locally on your device in sandboxed storage (SwiftData). We do not operate external database servers that store or maintain your personal health records. 5. Intellectual Property & License Grant
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the BP-AI mobile application on compatible iOS devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. All trademarks, service marks, logos, user interfaces, and software code are the intellectual property of Chang Sun / BP-AI.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
BP-AI IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF OCR TEXT EXTRACTION. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL OPERATE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT OCR TRANSCRIPTION WILL BE 100% ACCURATE IN ALL LIGHTING OR DISPLAY CONDITIONS.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER, PUBLISHER, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, INCLUDING RELIANCE ON ANY DATA TRANSCRIBED OR DISPLAYED BY THE APP.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect functional updates, regulatory changes, or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App following the posting of revised Terms indicates your acceptance of the changes.
